Lightning Strikes Monorail, Guests Need to be Evacuated

On Sunday, 120 guests traveling on the monorail line to EPCOT were evacuated after an apparent lightning strike. Some had to use the roof hatch to get out but there were no reported injuries.

Disney said the monorail car lost power around 6pm and could not be restarted. Officials would not confirm the power loss was due to lightning but did confirm there were weather related issues in the area. The outage only affect one monorail as other lines were running normally.
