DHS Loses Another Original Attraction

The overhaul of Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues. It was confirmed on Monday that The Magic of Disney Animation will be closing on July 12. This is the second original MGM/Hollywood Studios (Backlot Tour) attraction to get the axe in the past few months.

In 1989, the animation pavilion allowed guests to view Disney animators at work and often get a sneak peek at upcoming features. In recent years, the building showed a film about the creation of animated characters and became a meet and greet as well. It also housed the Animation Station which included lessons on how to draw many of the famous Disney characters.

Details have not been announced as to what will end up in the space.
