Rick Bayless to Open Disney Springs Restaurant

Disney Springs is getting another high profile chef to add to their lineup. Chef Rick Bayless is planning on opening his Frontera Fresco restaurant in the near future.

Bayless is best known for his PBS series “Mexico – One Plate at a Time.” The Disney Springs restaurant will feature hand-crafted tortas, tacos, salads, fresh guacamole and Mexican-braised meat entrees. Margaritas, cocktails, beer and wine will also be on the menu.

“I’m thrilled to bring Frontera Fresco to Disney Springs and share my passion for Mexican cuisine with the families who visit Orlando every year,” Bayless said.

Bayless has won six James Beard Foundation Awards for two cookbooks, Midwest Chef of the Year, National Chef of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, and Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America. He operates several Chicago eateries including Frontera Grill, Topolobampo, Xoco, and several locations for Frontera Fresco.

No word on when the new restaurant is expected to open.
