Say Bye to Selfie Sticks

Only a couple months after banning selfie sticks only on attractions, Disney now has extended that ban park-wide. This will also include all water parks and DisneyQuest in downtown Disney. That means the most despised poles will not make it past any of the baggage check in the parks. Those who have the sticks will have the options of picking them up later to returning it to their vehicles. Guests are being informed of the new policy posted in the visitor parking lots and at many of the Disney World resort hotels.

Until recently, Cast Members were only issuing out verbal warnings to anyone who pulled out the device on the attractions. But an incident last week that disrupted a roller coaster ride for an hour at the California Adventure Park, solidified the decision to ban them across all Disney’s theme parks.

“We strive to provide a great experience for the entire family, and unfortunately selfie-sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and cast,” Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty said.

She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
