Star Wars Takeover of Hollywood Studios

With the premiere of The Force Awakens only weeks away, Disney’s Hollywood Studios treated guests to a preview of coming attractions with several Star Wars themed highlights and events.

Some of the notable openings on December 1:

The former Art of Animation building is now the home of Star Wars Launch Bay. Guests can meet Chewbacca and Darth Vader, view props and replicas from the films and watch a short film with the filmmakers and stars of the Star Wars universe. Watch out for Jawas roaming around in the Cantina! If you need a Stormtrooper costume before heading home, you can pick one up for $1800 in Launch Bay Cargo.

Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple has always been a fan favorite. The revamped version now includes the Seventh Sister Inquisitor from the Star Wars Rebels series. Padawans can test their skills to see if they can become a Jedi.
Star Wars: Path of The Jedi, located in the ABC Sound Studio theater, is providing a quick introduction to the legacy of the franchise.
In addition, First Order Stormtroopers have been seen patrolling the area as well. If you love the treats from Star Wars Weekends, a few have made their way back to the Studios. Be tempted by the Dark Side with the Darth Vader Peanut Butter Chocolate Cupcake. There’s also plenty of merchandise abound with everything from clothing to artwork to full scale models.
Don’t forget starting in January 2016, weekends will feature a nightly fireworks show Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular along with a Star Wars-themed dessert party.

Kungaloosh Radio

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
