Statement on Kungaloosh Radio’s Future

News broke last week about the potential demise of our service provider, Live365. Due to the ruling from the Copyright Royalty Board, investors pulled their support from the company. This resulted in Live365 laying off the majority of their staff and notifying broadcasters that stations would go dark after 12/31/15.

Fortunately Live365 decided to keep all the stations alive until 1/31/16. That is the last date for the company to secure financial support for their future and the future of all broadcasters. This has been devastating all of us in the Disney music community. We have been searching for other outlets but none seem to match the quality of Live365. But rest assured, Kungaloosh Radio will continue on. It is important to find a stable and legal platform to broadcast. We are currently weighing several options including purchasing a server and licenses.

Thank you for all you support throughout the years. Kungaloosh Radio has been a labor of love and we will move forward.

In the words of Merriweather Adam Pleasure (Adventurers Club Founder)

We climb the highest mountains,
just to get a better view.

We plumb the deepest oceans,
cause we’re daring through and through.

We cross the scorching deserts,
martini in our hands.

We ski the polar ice caps,
in tuxedo looking grand.

We are reckless, brave, and loyal,
and valiant to the end.

If you come in here a stranger,
you will exit as a friend.

Stay tuned to where our next adventure will lead us!

Kungaloosh Radio

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.

Hi Theresa!!! This is…Theresa : ) I must have my Kungaloosh radio – I listen at work about 3 afternoons a week on Live 365, & sometimes in the late evening before bed. I love the themes (theme park rides during the day, relaxing Sunday music, evenings have a lot of park exit and night shows – it’s very imaginative). I liked this station so much, I purchased the Live 365 VIP membership for about $50 for the year so I would not have to hear commercials. I would be willing to pay a fee to be able to Livestream KR anytime, if this will be an option in the future. I see you have a donate button but if you will be selling subscriptions as you make the transition, I would definitely do that. The only other Live 365 stations I listened to were the WWII songs, but KR was the big reason for my purchase. Thanks again for bringing Disney to us!

Hi Theresa! Thank you so much for the kind words and support. I really appreciate it when I hear that my station has brighten up someone’s day. 🙂 Right now, we’re broadcasting on TuneIn and the TuneIn app. I am currently working on a stand-alone app for mobile devices. We’re also streaming commercial free as well on various other platforms on this post

It’s a bumpy road right now since there are not many options for us (definitely not as great as the Live365 platform). I hope to have a permanent solution and to add even more special programming in the future.

Thanks again for listening and continuing to support Kungaloosh Radio.

      – Theresa
