Celebrating a Princess: Cinderellabration

On this episode of Monday Mouse Moments, we are looking back at the 2005 stage show Cinderellabration. In anticipation of the 50th anniversary of Disneyland, the “Happiest Celebration on Earth” saw several new shows debuting in the parks. One such show made its way from Tokyo to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.

Happily Ever After

Adapted from Toyko Disneyland’s 20th celebration, the stage show was retooled to fit Magic Kingdom’s audience. Cinderellabration was a retelling of Cinderella’s coronation and depicted what happened right after the wedding. The Fairy Godmother hosted the event and welcomed guests to the special ceremony. The show featured many classic songs and even offered a few new musical compositions.

Of course, let’s not forgot about the princesses. Cinderella’s special friends included Snow White and her Prince, Aurora and her Prince, Jasmine and Aladdin, and Belle and the Beast. Guests witnessed plenty of pageantry and choreography from the show. It truly was a celebration of Cinderella.

The show culminated with the crowning of Cinderella. She and her prince embraced in a kiss and of course, everyone lived happily ever after. The final show took the stage on September 16, 2006.

Let’s all celebrate with a little Cinderellabration.
