Celebrating Father’s Day with Mom
Sunday was Father’s Day. But since my Dad passed when I was young, Mom has taken on the dual role. And as a Father’s Day treat, she wanted to go to Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club.
I did a review of the breakfast, and it’s a great deal on property. You get to enjoy the continental breakfast buffet with fruit, yogurt, pastries, and biscuits and gravy.
Of course, the price is up to $23, but we still love it.
Can you tell what I love? Yes, I always start with the biscuits and gravy.
Mom had the Crab Cake Benedict…
And I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. I never liked grits until I moved down here and ate grits from Disney. Now I’m hooked!
After breakfast, we went into the gift shop. Do you see the Hidden Mickey?
Can you see it?
Every resort seems to have a hidden character challenge. Basically, you have to find a certain character somewhere in the resort. At the Yacht Club, you may want to keep your eyes open for Max from The Little Mermaid.
All the Facebook groups have been going nuts about helicopters flying around the resorts. They were taking promo videos, and it looked like today they were flying above the Epcot resort area.
We went for a quick stroll around Epcot.
Started in France…
And saw two princesses: Aurora and Belle.
Next up: Morocco. They have been working on a few planters and some walls were up. So, we took a gander at the interior of the pavilion.
Japan is impressive from any angle.
Another Hidden Mickey in the koi pond.
Did you spot it?
We made a quick spot at the Art of Disney in the American Adventure pavilion.
A special Lion King 30th piece.
So much Donald artwork, so little money.
Off to Germany for the trains. Sometimes, it’s so busy that you can’t even see them. I like the quieter times in the park.
Enjoying the beauty of China with a single water lily.
Exploring the exhibit in Norway. If you want to know the true story of Loki, Freda, and Thor, check this out.
We also stopped by the Odessey, which has been split between the regular guest section and DVC holders.
Okay, it was hot, so we needed to cool down with a Coconut Passionfruit Smoothie.
I wanted to see this new space. It’s a game area near the walkway by the Imagination Pavilion.
Do people on vacation want to play checkers and bags in the hot Florida sun? Seems like a weird addition.
After that, we headed back to the Yacht Club. Our day of eating and exploring was over.
A delicious breakfast and nice to have some breathing room in Epcot.
Well, until next time…
