A Hot and Steamy Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
For most people, the weather starts cooling down in September, but not in Florida. Our party tonight was going to have a heat index around 100 degrees. Yikes!
We started the party by grabbing our wristbands near the former Stitch’s Great Escape, and then headed over to Main Street to grab our candy bags.
The Main Street two decker bus is always in a festive mood.
When you enter the “backstage” area, you are greeted by a few familiar characters in their Halloween garb.
A little fog to set the mood.
Bowler Hat guy…
Let’s get started…
On to the merch…
After grabbing a few things, there’s a lull. You can get your wristband, but it’s a waiting game until the 7pm kickoff. We decided to order food at Cosmic Ray’s.
And then head back to the Jack and Sally meet and greet. Only an hour wait? Of course, we hopped in line, but that was a mistake.
That 60 minute wait turned into almost 2.5 hours. I don’t know what was happening, but the line would move and then stop. Move and stop for an extended period of time. Then, when you entered the room, it was another line to wait. We got into line at 5:20 and were danger of missing the parade.
Kinda a fail on Disney. If you’re going to post wait times, they should not be double that what is stated.
Thankfully, we had Mom scoping out the area, and she grabbed a nice spot for the parade.
Here comes the Headless Horseman…

There is nothing better than Main Street for Halloween…
Well, maybe the Castle too…
Or the Haunted Mansion area.
We spent a lot of time trying to grab a few Magic Shots. The lines didn’t want to move quickly, and it became a big of a time eater. So plan accordingly.
During the fireworks, I made my way to Frontierland. I danced with a few Country Bears…
And saw the Hitchhiking Ghosts.
Unfortunately, I didn’t see much of the fireworks.
I barely had time to enjoy the Pumpkin Cheesecake at Casey, but you have to try at least one treat.
We caught the 11:15 parade in Liberty Square.
And then headed back to the front of the Castle for the last performance of Villains Spooktacular. It is same show every year, but definitely my favorite.
Gotta grab all those scary pumpkin shots!
The famous Mickey Pumpkin (not sold in stores).
And one last look down Main Street.
Another pumpkin shot.
See you real soon!
Mickey Ghosts…
Now back to the car and collapse with heat exhaustion.
Until next time…
