Celebrating Mom’s Big Day

So it was Mom’s birthday, and there’s only one place she wants to go: Magic Kingdom. Since it looked like perfect weather (before the hurricane), we spent a nice Saturday at the park.

We started out with a tradition; meeting up with Mickey. Because you need some magic on your birthday.

Next, it was snack time at the Lunching Pad. We ordered both the cream cheese stuffed and regular Mickey-shaped ones. And the Cast Members had some type of contest. If you received a blue tray, you could get a free pretzel. I chose a second cream cheese one.

One of Mom’s favorites is the Carousel of Progress. Time to say hi to John and Rover.

And the sleepy kitty.

I saw this sign by the Country Bears. i swear this was by the old Frontierland Shooting Gallery.

Of course, we had to see Mom’s new favorite: The Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

And since we’re here, you can’t miss a trip to the Enchanted Tiki Room.

A birthday is not complete without a treat. We grabbed a I Lave You float at the Sunshine Tree Terrace.

We didn’t spend a lot of time in the park. I was recovering from a sinus infection, and this was a bit of struggle to get through the day. My energy level was not up for a whole day of a park.

So, we started making our way out. But first, let’s look at the puppies.

The pumpkins by the Fire Station were appropriately themed.

Mom had a great birthday, and she got plenty of “Happy Birthdays” with her button.

Until next time…

Kungaloosh Radio

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
