Saying Goodbye to Halloween…for This Year

Last Saturday before Halloween, and that means the park is packed with people. But we have an important mission: to see all the Halloween stuff in their glory one last time for ten year.

Bye spider and bats in the bushes…

Since it was around dinner time, we grabbed a pizza and tomato soup at Pinocchio’s Village Haus. It’s not five star pizza, but it’ll do in the parks when you don’t want a burger or chicken fingers.

After that, we wanted to grab a Halloween snack at Big Top Souvenirs. All the apples have been missing lately.

So I went the pumpkin spice cupcake while Mom grabbed her favorite vanilla one.

While we were sitting down and enjoying the treats, there was some unexpected Mickey pumpkin garland hanging around.

And the walk-in photo op from the Halloween party. It’s Mr. Toad. I missed this when I went to the party.

You have to love evening in the Magic Kingdom.

Ever since Disney announced that Rivers of America is going away for a Cars land, I’ve been trying to snap a photos of this area. I still can’t believe they’re ripping this out for a monstrosity of an attraction. Bad call Disney!

And I refuse to have some type of Pollyanna attitude about this decision. It’s asinine… just like the renovation of Epcot with the broken lights and the college cafeteria of Communicore Hall. This new era of WDW Parks management really has their heads up their asses, and the quality of the parks are suffering because of it. Replacing a big beautiful spot of the park is absolute bullshit.

One new addition that Disney didn’t mess up is the new Country Bears, which is becoming a must-see every time we’re here.

The Liberty Belle is home for the evening.

Another photo-op. This one is located in Adventureland, and it has a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea theme.

Now in Liberty Square, the window above the Christmas Shoppe is supposed to have Ichabod Crane. We spent 15 minutes trying to find him, but all that was left was a pumpkin.

Enjoy those Mickey pumpkins, which are superior to those crappy Cinderella ones from a few years ago.

Cinderella Castle is extra spooky tonight!

We found the last one: The Headless Horseman

More Mickey pumpkins

And the window display outside of Main Street Bakery, featuring Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Donald.

It’s almost time for the scarecrow versions of the citizens of Main Street to say goodbye.

Next time we see the buildings, they will have Christmas garland instead of Halloween bunting.

One last look at the Jack o’Lanterns of Main Street.

A quick glance down Main Street for a Castle shot.

See you real soon!

One last goodbye!

That’s it for the 2024 Halloween season.

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
