Late Night Holidays in Animal Kingdom

Today, I decided to check out Animal Kingdom at night. Usually, the park closes at 6pm, and you kiss out on the chance to see anything after dark.

First stop: the Christmas tree.

There’s was no DiVine, so we made the trek up towards to the Tree of Life.

And we ran into the Merry Menagerie.

The birds are an often overlooked part. But tye Cast Members give it their all!

The decorations are subtle but very cute. I love the animals!

We popped in the shop for a few moments.

I’m not Jewish, but I really love the Hannakka merch.

Tree with animal ornaments in the gift shop.

We walked out at just the right moment.

Time to grab some bites at Trilo-Bites.

The Buffalo Chicken Chips were good but super salty.

Next on our list was picking up the Mufasa postcard for AP holders. If I was smart, I would’ve taken a picture of it.

But I was too busy, trying to grab a few shots of the closing Chester’s & Hester’s.

Count your days Dinoland.

It was 4:00pm, with the trails closing at 4:30, and someone wanted to see the tiger at the Marahjaha.

Hi Sheldon!

And we saw the tiger.

And the very loud bird!

It was just starting to become dusk.

While exploring, we found a little path off the walkway between Asia and Africa. We never knew this existed. But it’s a serene space to get away from the huge crowds.

It leads right into Africa.

Our plan was to have dinner at Satu’li’
The beef chimincurri bowl with noodles and herb dressing is a must.

Let’s see how Pandora celebrates.

All that work in Pandora, and we barely get to see it at nighttime.

The Merry Menagerie mural.

Let’s take a look at Africa…

The backside of the Tree of Life.

Lanterns for Diwali…

I made a promise to get a Flamingo cupcake at Flame Tree BBQ. It comes with a nice view!

To cap off the night, a little stroll through Dinoland. Could this be the last Christmas?

Only after 25 years, Animal Kingdom gets its own Santa meet and greet in Dinoland. Ugh!

More Dino decorations.

A little walk through Dinoland at night. These days are numbered.

As we headed out, one more glance at Discovery Island.

A brief stop to see my favorite holiday Tree of Life show featuring the fox.

Farewell Christmas tree!

It was a busy night trying to fit everything into the night. But Animal Kingdom is a great place to enjoy a few holiday decorations.

Until next time…

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
