Winding Down at the Magic Kingdom

One of the best things about being local is just going to Magic Kingdom at random times. We decided to head over in the afternoon.

And since Festival of Fantasy was heading down Main Street, I hopped on the Walt Disney World Railroad.

It’s the backside of Frontierland.

First stop: Frontierland Station

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is under construction. Looks like someone left the doors open.

We won’t be able to enjoy these views much longer.

Storybook Circus Station

I took the train all the way back to Main Street, and met Mom in the Emporium.

They’re changing on the floor tiles. It has a JC Penney feel to it.

Since it was a relaxing day, how about corn dog nuggets on the hub grass?

And a nice Castle view!

We did a little walking, and then decided we needed dinner. Corn dog nuggets will only hold you for so long.

So, it’s a Cosmic Ray’s night. We ordered the Truffle Garlic Fries and the Triple B Burger.

Holy moly! The fires definitely hit you with a strong garlic flavor.

The burger is always a good choice.

After dinner, you can’t pass up a ride on the Peoplemover.

We also checked out the goodies at Big Top Souvenirs. The Easter treats have arrived.

One of my favorite parts of the Magic Kingdom is taking an evening ride on the Liberty Belle. I’m trying to enjoy it for as long as I can.

I don’t know if I’m more upset about the Muppets Courtyard closing or the Rivers of America. Too many big changes in the parks, and they don’t seem for the better.

Let’s enjoy some of these soon-to-be-gone views…

Remember the Frontierland Shooting Gallery? Well, it’s gone, and in its place is a DVC lounge.

And since we’re poor, we had to look at it from the outside. Plus, they were closed for the day.

Time for a sweet treat: the I Lava You Float.

Taking in the view of Adventureland.

Time for fireworks. I like to grab a seat in Liberty Square.

I haven’t seen the whole Ichabod Crane scenes in Liberty Square, so let’s check them out.

He sits in the window and eats…

Or reads…

Random views of Liberty Square…

The Castle looks stunning at night.

Time to check out the merch.

When everyone rushes out of Main Street, we like to kick back in this little side street.

It was finally time to leave and board the ferry. We saw a parting shot of the Electrical Water Pageant.

That’s a wrap for tonight. I was a great night to the Magic Kingdom.

Until next time…

Kungaloosh Radio

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
