A Serene Day at Animal Kingdom
It’s been a very long time since we checked out Animal Kingdom. The last time we were here was to say goodbye to Dino-Rama.
But today, we are taking a leisurely stroll through the park, and hopefully, to see little Bakso too.
To get some of those feel good vibes, let’s check out The Oasis.
Most people run past this area, but you can get your fill of waterfalls and different species of ducks.
And a little shy duckling…
Now we always have to check out the merch. It looks like Rob Kaz has a display inside the Island Mercantile.
I don’t have room in my home, but I definitely want to get a manatee print.
As we head out of the shops, who do we hear? Kevin is on the bridge to Asia!
Hey Kevin!
Bye Kevin!
I’ve been wanting to try Eight Spoons for a while. But every time I walk by, it’s closed. Well, today looks to be my lucky day.
I went with the Barbacoa mac and cheese. They tasted great, but a little pricey for a small portion.
I would definitely order again.
Now on to see the tigers…
And Bakso is sleeping. Sigh! Wake up little guy!
Oh well. At least his dad, Conrad, was out and about.
You might be able to hear him roar…
Time to move on to the bird sanctuary.
People really have to watch put in this space. This little guy almost got squashed by someone.
Every time I go to Animal Kingdom, I discover something new. I actually walked down to Kali River Rapids to check things out.
The elephants’ trunks shoot out water.
If you look at the right angle, the temple lines up with Everest.
Another thing I like to do is look at all the details of the park. You can find this boat along the river in Asia.
Another look at Everest.
Since we took the long way around, we decided to check out Nemo. These fuzzy blooms were next to the queue. Any ideas what they could be?
Nemo is always a good show.
No more Cementasaurus. This is all that is left.
Signs are all gone too.
The Dino-Rama meet and greets are still around. You can see Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, and sometimes, Goofy and Pluto.
Hi Donald and Daisy!
Some ‘osaurus signs around what is left Dinoland USA.
Random Dino-Bites photo!
A new band (from the floatilla) called the Eco-Rhythmics.
We took time to explore the Tree of Life.
Now snack time!
Mom got a vanilla cupcake…
And I picked the bunny rice crisp treat, or as the Cast Member called it a “bunny booty.”
We enjoyed our snacks in an empty Harambe Market. When is this place ever open?
It was getting a little toasty outside. What better way to cool off than a performance of the Lion King.
After chomping our treats, we decided to grab dinner. Yes, we did treats before dinner. Of course, there is only one place: Satu’li Canteen.
I always have to get the chimichurri beef with noodles. So good!
Now we stroll…
You can take the exit of the former Bugs Life attraction to see another side of the Tree of Life. We saw this little hidden gem.
“Paint with all the colors of the wind.”
A look at the other side…
The 30th Anniversary mural for The Lion King.
Golden Hour at the Tree of Life.
One last pass in Dinoland USA.
Random triceratops head.
And that was pretty much it for the day. Shows and snacks were pretty much on the agenda.
That’s all for now! Until next time…
