Bun on the Run
We usually don’t go back-to-back to the pakrs unless something special is happening. Well, today was a special day. What started out as seeing the Easter eggs at the Grand Floridian and Contemporary, ended up as a detour to the Magic Kingdom.
Why?
Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny were in town! This was the first day of the meet and greet, and I wanted to check out that out. While we will be here for Easter Day, the lines can get long. So, might as well be the crowds.
We didn’t even take the obligatory Castle picture, it was off to Liberty Square.
So here’s the deal: Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny meet from 9am to 5pm. BUT the times are weird. They have an half hour on stage, then they take a half hour break. Around 11am, there’s a big gap until 1:00pm.
Of course, the Cast Members can cut the line off at any time.
The line wasn’t too horrendous. We got there are around 1:30 and were told we would not make the 1:30 greet. We were fine with that. The next one was at 2:30, and since it was “Easter Bunny or Bust,” we were staying in line.
There goes the Bunnies…
And here they come back at 2:30. Fortunately, we were close to the front of the line.
Hi Mrs. Bunny!
I asked for a nice pose from the bunny couple.
Mission accomplished. Now time to grab a snack.
For some reason, we like to ordering a cup of the tomato soup and an all-meat flatbread at Pinocchio’s can hit the hunger spot. It’s not fine dining, but a welcome relief from burgers and chicken fingers.
So, this is where I hit the road. I thought we would see the Easter eggs as a family, but Mom wanted to stay at Magic Kingdom.
I’m riding solo via monorail to the Contemporary.
In past years, the eggs were in the lobby and fourth level. But Disney scaled everything down. We have a small display in just the lobby.
I’ll give a full breakdown here.
I like to mull around the Grand Concourse shops and the Contempo Cafe. It’s nice to get up close to Mary Blair’s mural…
And shop for bunnies.
Now off to the Grand Floridian.
Once again, you can check out the rest of the eggs now.
And since Disney is remodeling the lobby (sigh), I wanted to grab a few untouched pics before it turns into an IKEA designed space.
You can grab your Easter treats at the Grand Cottage. But hurry! It’s only here until April 20.
More lobby pictures!
I wanted to grab a few of Mrs. Potts and Chip.
Enjoy the marble. Hopefully, it stays.
Then I was taking photos at the main entrance. A Cast Member asked me why I’m taking photos of the floor.
You can find the Fabulous Five!
I had to tell him about the characters. It absolutely made his day. So, if you see Rhett in the Grand Flo, ask him about the characters in the marble.
Now, let’s appreciate the Grand Flo Lobby in all its birdcage glory.
Time to move on! It wasn’t bad to get around the resorts… about an hour.
Let’s head back to the Magic Kingdom.
As soon as I walked in, I saw a Magic Street Vehicle at 5pm! You know I had to get a ride!
Of course, an obligatory Peoplemover ride.
By this time, the spring break crowds were packing it in. We took a gander at the treats and split.
It was a great day, even though it was hectic. But it was nice to get to see all the Easter eggs displays. Plus, I had a little foresight with the Grand Flo.
As I’m writing this, construction walls went up around the birdcage on Sunday night.
And to close, I did get a Bunny Burrow Dirt Cup. Well, it looked pretty, it tasted nasty. There was a weird aftertaste. Man, I always pick the worst desserts on property.
That’s all for now. Until next time…
