Easter at Magic Kingdom
After making a decision to NOT spend a holiday at Walt Disney World, we somehow find ourselves at Magic Kingdom for Easter.
Why?
First, we have reservations for Crystal Palace for dinner. And secondly, we wanted to see the scaled-down Easter pre-parade.
With that, welcome to the Magic Kingdom.
I’m wearing bunny ears to celebrate.
We moseyed around a bit, and a few Cast Members loved the ears. But it was time to grab a spot for the parade. Now last year, the parade was at noon. This year, 3pm. And people were already staking out spots at 1:30. Ugh!
Normally, we take a nice shady spot by the train station, but there was already at least six scooters taking up the whole area.
We settled for a slightly shady place that turned into full blast sunshine right before the start of the parade. I was melting.
Before I almost passed out, here comes the Main Street Band…
And the start of the shortest parade ever!
The dancing hippos and ostriches from Fantasia.
Springtime dancers.
Mr. and Mrs. Bunny.
All the flowers…
And the lone bunny… the White Rabbit.
The barnyard chickens.
Of course, that diva… Clara Cluck!
And that is it!
So, I heard a rumor that the characters frolic around in this area. Let’s see.
Hey, it’s Clara Cluck strutting in.
Here’s the ostriches…
The hippo ballerinas…
But they’re hanging out on the other side.
The White Rabbit and the flowers
More Clara! She loves the spotlight!
Hey hippos!
The butterfly…
And flower.
Hi White Rabbit!
He’s late.
Looks like the hippos are hanging out on the other side. I had to make my way over there.
Bye, bye White Rabbit! We’re going to be late for our dinner reservation.
Before we headed over to Crystal Palace, it was bathroom break time. This looked like the spot to see everyone heading backstage.
Now it is time to chow down at Crystal Palace for dinner. It’s an all-you-care-to-eat buffet. Winnie the Pooh and Friends rotate throughout the dining room.
And that came fast. As soon as I was at the buffet, I had to run over to see Pooh.
Eeyore, Piglet, Tigger, and Pooh will come up to your table for a meet.
Since I just briefly saw Pooh on the first pass, I asked the attendant if he could come back. I just wanted a quick photo, but Pooh put on a show.
It took me a minute, but all of the desserts are Pooh and Friends themed.
Character topiaries…
And you get to meet Rabbit on the way out. I don’t know if this is common or just because it is Easter.
The dinner was good, but nothing spectacular. All the Cast Members and characters were exceptional though. But even with that, I think we will just stick to breakfast.
Now on to enjoy the rest of the night…
It’s Tiki time!
And across the park to Tomorrowland and the Peoplemover. I ask for a double ride. Don’t do the homerun finger thing at the Cast Members. Just ask them politely to stay on for another ride.
We watched some of the fireworks behind Cinderella Castle. A guy was live-streaming himself swinging lightsabers to the show.
As soon as Tink took flight, I headed to Peter Pan. It was a complete walk-on.
Next, I went on it’s a small world with the most obnoxious family. The dad kept bitching about how the ride was boring and getting his kid to scream throughout the whole time. To make matters worst, a nice family in front of me were trying to record the ride and now they will forever have this jackass’s commentary as a family memory.
Thankfully, I didn’t tip the guy out of the boat and ended the night with a trip in a honey pot. I figured, let’s have some more Pooh and Friends fun.
And that was it for Easter day and night.
Until next time.
