WDW Update News
It’s Friday and there’s a ton of news coming out of WDW today.
First the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was dedicated and now has an official opening day: May 28.
The second bit of news is Animal Kingdom related. There will be a new nighttime spectacular called the “Rivers of Light.” As Disney described, “‘Rivers of Light’ promises to be an innovative show unlike anything ever seen in Disney Parks, combining live music, floating lanterns, water screens and swirling animal imagery. The show will magically come to life on the broad, natural stage of the Discovery River, between Discovery Island and Expedition Everest, delighting our guests and truly capping off a full day of adventures at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.”
From the artist’s concept drawing, it looks like this is going to be excellent and finally give guests a reason to stay all day at Animal Kingdom.
Finally big news from Disney Resorts, Disney’s Polynesian Resort will be re-imagined and return to its 1971 roots by going back to its original name, Polynesian Village Resort.
Concept drawings are showing that the waterfall in the lobby will be removed. Rooms will also receive a facelift.
There will be several new dining experiences planned for the resort, including the addition of the West Coast favorite, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto.
