Guest Loses Fingertips on Pirates of the Caribbean

Hey folks, you know those annoying announcements about keeping feet and hands inside the ride vehicles? Well apparently that’s for a good reason.

Disney Safety

It seems on Thursday, a guest ignored those warnings and stuck his hand in the water as the Pirates of the Caribbean boat was descending the short waterfall. Result? Two missing finger tips. The guest was treated and released. None of the injuries were life-threatening. Officials closed the ride for inspection and it was deemed safe. The finger tips have not been recovered though.

So lesson out there. Yes the safety spiels are there for a reason. Please keep your hands and feet inside the ride vehicle… and please watch your children.

Kungaloosh Radio

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
