Dateline: Walt Disney World – February 27, 2021
Walt Disney World is moving and grooving with more changes. This week we find out an old favorite will still not open for another month, character dining returns to another location, and the World Showcase Lagoon gets a new addition. Hang on to your hats and sunglasses, it’s another packed news week at WDW.
New Place to Relax: Looks like a new spot to relax has popped up in Hollywood Studios. The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular is now a designated Relaxation Station. With this new location, the Relaxation Station in Galaxy’s Edge has closed.
Character Breakfast Is Back! Starting on March 22, you can enjoy a hearty ala carte breakfast with your favorite Disney Junior characters at Hollywood & Vine. The menu options include:
- All-you-care-to-enjoy pancakes made with signature house-made batter.
- French toast stuffed with chocolate-hazelnut spread.
- Toasted open-faced salmon bagel.
- Four-egg scramble.
- Four-egg cheese omelet.
- Plant-based egg frittata.
The Renovation That Will Never End: If you were expecting to ride the PeopleMover at the end of the month, think again. Despite all the signings pointing to an opening, the official opening day has been pushed back to April 3.
Return of Nightly Shows: If you have heard a few “booms” lately, there have been sporadic tests of fireworks, especially near the Fantasmic area. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
Changes Around the Kingdom: Things are looking a little different around Cinderella Castle. For starters, the castle stage has been roped off and removed. The water around the Castle has also been drained. Imagineers are working to spruce up the area for the 50th celebration.
Hours Extended: In anticipation of spring break, all four theme parks have extended their hours. If you haven’t been able to snag a reservation, take a look at the updated calendar.
Harmonious Updates: The massive ring and barges of the new nightly show made their way into the World Showcase Lagoon. Guests have been describing them as “taco barges” and the “Stargate.” What are you opinions about the new additions to the Lagoon.
Another busy week in the books! Are you disappointed with the revised PeopleMover schedule? Think the Harmonious barges are obtrusive? Let me know in the comments!
