Look Inside Figment’s Inspiration Station

When everyone headed to Magic Kingdom for Splash Mountain’s last day, we decided to head off to Epcot to rope drop Figment’s Inspiration Station. Let’s take a look at the former Odyssey building to see this Figment-inspired food “booth.”

If you’re looking to head to the Inspiration Station, keep in mind that it does not open until 11 AM, along with most of the other food booths in EPCOT. There is no line, just people standing around and waiting to get inside.

When you enter the old Odyssey building, you have two choices: head to order food or enter the official Inspiration Station area. I elected to grab a table and sit down.

What would inspiration and imagination smell like? Apparently, like sweet candy. Since we were the first people in the room, you could really smell the sweet scent of cotton candy. Don’t worry; it is not too overpowering.

As you walk around, there’s no mistaking that Figment is the center of the show. The walls are brightly decorated with rainbows and soft purples and blues.

If you head to the far back of the station, you can find the original “touch” tables from ImageWorks at Journey Into Imagination. How do they work? You can press your hand against the pins and create “art.”

At the start of the day, they have the food booth’s logo and Figment’s outline, but as a Cast Member pointed out, they quickly changed as people put their hands underneath to create their own unique design.

If you take a look at the walls, you might notice different animations of Figment appearing (and reappearing) throughout the pavilion. These are recreated animation scenes from the original attraction.

And there was even an appearance from Dreamfinder.

If you want a more audio-visual look, here’s a video:

Even the brightly colored walls give a nod to the ending scene of the current Journey Into Imagination with Figment.

No detail was left unturned with the tables having their own “spark” of imagination.

Where is the big man, or dragon, himself? Have no fear; he’s atop the doorway. Figment has a beret, painting pallet, and brushes like any good artist.

If you wondered about those Figment buckets, there is no need to wait in a six-hour line this time. You can mobile order and pick up your popcorn bucket in the pavilion.

The Inspiration Station is a great place to pick up a few pieces of artwork from Disney artists. You can find many of these festival’s official art for sale and plenty of merch.

Stopping by this “booth” wouldn’t be complete with a few bites. Opening day, I tried the Figment-inspired Purple Shake, which tasted a  little too much like grape cough syrup.

Today, the plan was to grab a Rainbow Cake, but wouldn’t you know, the cake was sold out on the opening day.

Well, today we’re getting cake. Apparently, everyone else had the same idea too. People were crowding the booth, ordering five, six pieces of cake. Yikes!

Along with the cake, I also went with the Pop’t Art (aka Pop Tart), which was decorated in Figment colors.

So quick review because we love food… The Pop’t Art is a basic toaster-type pastry. Yes, it’s a better Pop-Tart. The pastry had a nice buttery taste while still holding up to the frosting and blueberry filling. It wasn’t dry like most Pop-Tarts. The filling was great, with just enough sweetness without overpowering the pastry.

And the frosting? It was a standard colored pastry glaze.

The cake looked great, but it was a basic white cake (with food dye) with a thin layer of buttercream frosting. Not that’s a bad thing. Sometimes, you just want to enjoy a slice of cake.

In addition to the cake, you could order a fruity watermelon slice pizza and a rainbow beer flight. Maybe we will try that next time!

If you are looking for a unique spot to enjoy some Figment-inspired views, make sure to stop by this pavilion.

Kungaloosh Radio

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
