Spring Break: A Tale as Old as Time

The clock was ticking to get all the Easter-related events for the season. We still had one more egg task: to see the displays at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club.

Sometimes, you have to take a roundabout way to get to your destination. For today, we decided to park at Hollywood Studios, get breakfast, see a show, and head to the Epcot resorts.

While the parking at Hollywood Studios wasn’t bad, the lines to get into the park were insane; like all the way past the ticket booths. Now I have a unique skill – I can pick the worst line. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the grocery store or Disney, my line will be the one with all the troubles. Today, there were only 10 people ahead of me and everyone had a problem. Didn’t make a reservation, tickets not showing as valid, etc. Ugh! Happy Spring Break!

When I got inside, we made a beeline for breakfast. First stop: Woody’s Lunch Box.

Moving through Toy Story Land can be hectic, especially when everyone is gathering around for the Green Army Men. But you have to stop and listen.

I mobile ordered and barely got a time slot. Here’s my tip: if you want to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner, don’t wait to place your order. You can always change the time, but if there are no spots left, you’re kind of out of luck.

Here’s our breakfast bowl. You have a bowl of potato barrels covered with smoked brisket country gravy and scrambled eggs. There’s also a smattering of green onions. Definitely a good, hearty way to start the breakfast.

The potato barrels were a little crunchy, but the brisket gravy had an excellent smoky flavor. You want to keep shoving it in. There could’ve been more brisket. It’s a big portion, so that makes it an option to share.

Next on the agenda was to catch a show of Beauty and the Beast. I haven’t seen this show in almost a decade. Honestly, I kinda skip some of these shows, but they’re hidden treasures of the park.

I should kick myself for not checking out this show for so long. It’s an oldie, but defines worth your time.

After that, it was time to get a Ronto Wrap. Yes, I know I had a breakfast bowl, but I looking forward to get one.

This had to be one of the freshest wraps I ever had. The roasted pork was super tender, slaw was nice and crunchy, and the pita was even tasty – definitely a good choice for the day.

When we finished, we even said hi to Mando and Baby Grogu.

Then off to Muppets Courtyard. Miss Piggy’s fountain is flowing.

My boy Fozzie is located in the upper level of PizzeRizzo.

Always check out the cork boards. Fozzie is available for weddings and funerals.

Even Rizzo was out greeting guests.

We finally checked out the new snack spot: Ice Cold Hydraulics.

We decided to split a soft-serve chocolate and vanilla swirl cup because we never seen Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction, so we took that bait. It was good, but it’s just a standard soft serve.

See you later Gertie!

The mischievous chipmunks were out.

But it was time to say goodbye.

Now it was off to Epcot via the Skyline.

We did check out both displays at the Yacht and Beach Club. Make sure to visit to see an in-depth look at them.

Along with the chocolate displays, there were other goodies. You can pick out items for a personalized Easter basket.

This year’s Mickey and Minnie bunnies.

Before leaving for our last stop, one look at the spring flowers outside the Beach Club.

Yes, we decided to take the Skyliner for one more stop: the Caribbean Beach Club. As we walked to Port Royale (the main building), we saw the swimming pool was out of commission.

While it may seem like we just ate all day, our meals were pretty spread out. This was our dinner selections:

Chicken Bowl (Jerk Chicken served over Rice and Beans with a side of Tomato and Cucumber Salad topped with Cilantro-Lime Tofu Crema and Pickled Vegetable Slaw)

And Mom had the Fish Tacos with a mac and cheese side. (Three Fish Tacos topped with Pickled Vegetable Slaw, Cilantro Lime Crema, Cotija Cheese, and a side of Pico de Gallo with a Lime, served with choice of Side.)

And a cupcake because I haven’t had any Easter treats for the season.

Here’s the Thumper Carrot Cake.

Honestly, we didn’t even touch our dinners and went right for dessert. This was fantastic! The carrot cake was moist and the cream cheese was rich but not too sweet. Oh, I wish these weren’t limited-time offerings.

Well, after eating through half the parks, it was time to pack up our leftovers and head home.

That’s a wrap for the day. We thought we were only going to take a couple of hours, but trying to cram in everything made it an all-day affair.

Well, next week is going to be jam-packed. We’re going to have to see Mr. and Mrs. Bunny at Magic Kingdom and check out the Easter Parade.

Until next time!
