Our Easter Grand Finale

What was promised as a short day in the Magic Kingdom, turned out to be anything but. We had two items on the agenda: Meeting Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny and catching the pre-Easter parade.

With that, we were getting up super early to check everything off the list. Yes, we were there for almost rope drop. It was 8:15 when we walked into the park. So I’ll count it.

One of my favorite parts of getting to Magic Kingdom early is you can actually catch one of the Main Street Vehicles. Once it gets busy, you usually don’t see them out.

I had a one-person ride all the way up to Cinderella Castle.

Since we rushed out of the house, we needed breakfast. We made a stopped at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments for the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich. I mean, there’s fruit in there so it has to be healthy, right?

After enjoying that, I had some time to kill and checked the times. Now I said I wouldn’t be riding any attractions, but when Haunted Mansion is 13 minutes (basically a walk-on), you gotta go.

Well, it was a little more than 13, but the line did move though. I tried my best to get Madame Leota.

And even the graveyard kitties, but they were harder to catch.

Once the ride finished, we made our way to the Easter Bunny spot. Now, all the guides stated that him and the missus would be meeting guests at 9:00 am.

I walked over at 9:10 a.m., and there was already a line of people. Knowing this was going to be the hot spot, we planted ourselves down and waited.

Anastasia and Drizella said, “Hi.”

Finally! I’m not going to say it, but they were late too.

Mr. and Mrs. Bunny don’t sign autographs, but you get a cute card.

Happy Easter from the Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny.

After waiting in line, it was time to pick a spot for the parade. People were already lining up at 11 am. So we choose a place right across from Casey’s Corner. And had a creepy clown staring down. Sorry Claude Coats and Marc Davis.

Now it’s not a grand Easter parade in days past. Today’s parade consists of a few floats and dancers. We talking a maximum of 5 minutes.

The parade starts with the dancing ostriches and hippos from Fantasia. They throw confetti all over the place.

Then the springtime dancers.

And we know these two…

A butterfly, flowers, and the White Rabbit.

We finish off with the baby chicks and Clara Cluck. I was next to a family with a daughter who was one of the chicky dancers.

And that’s the end.

So since it precedes the Festival of Fantasy, we had to stay for that parade.

Peter Pan and Hook

The Sleeping Beauty gang.

The Dwarfs and Snow White.

Random Mad Hatter

And the rest of the cast of characters.

Once the parade was done, we needed something to eat. Splitting a waffle, standing in the hot Florida sun, and not hydrating was doing a number on me.

Not the most glamorous, but Pork Carnitas nachos will do the trick, and Mom had a kid’s-sized taco. Tip: Always ask for the cheese, salsa, and sour cream.

Once we rehydrated, we wanted to check out the former Splash Mountain/Tiana’s Bayou area.

I do like the new mural, but it’s not really giving Jazz Age vibes.

Don’t ask to ride; we’re just testing.

And since the glassblower seems to be a hit on livestreams…

With all these Spring Break crowds, I’ve been giving this same side-eye as Pluto.

We checked out the Mickey treats at the Confectionery. I don’t like the new treats. Give me the old English toffee bars any day.

We weren’t planning to catch the second parade, but here we are.

A kiss goodbye from Minnie.

We took a break for Easter, but we headed to Boma for dinner. Seriously I could get a whole plate of ribs, and I usually do. Plus, the soups are excellent too.

Of course, you have to finish with a plate of sweet treats. I have to admit, I’m not a fan of Zebra Domes. But I get a couple in hopes I’ll like them this time.

We closed out the night with a few animals.

And the butt-sniffing zebra. 😒

Anyway, Happy Easter from the Kungaloosh Radio family.
