Breakout to Epcot

Do you ever just feel like celebrating at the end of the week? Yeah, that’s how I felt! It’s been a whirlwind lately – that means it’s Epcot time!

Since we only had two hours to walk around and eat dinner, we had to make it quick.

First stop, the Farmer’s Feast. Now when someone complains about the varying quality of dishes, refer to this.

The Seared Scallop from a week ago…

And the Seared Scallop from today. They look like two completely different dishes.

The second did have another scallop, but the sauce was very watered down.

We also had the blueberry lemon buckle. It was wiggly sweet with just a hint of lemon.

When people say they don’t love Epcot, you just ignore them. No one needs that negativity in their life.

Next up, the Northern Bloom. We split the Beef Tenderloin Tips with Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce, Whipped Potatoes, and Garden Vegetables. And the Chocolate Maple Whisky Cake.

The beef was tender and the gravy had a wonderful rich flavor. The chocolate cake was warm, gooey, and very sweet. I only had a hint of whisky flavor.

Just a beautiful night in World Showcase.

I wanted to try the Grilled Lamb Kefta Kebabs with Carrot-Chickpea Salad and Garlic Aïoli at Tangierine Cafe.  Perfectly cooked with a hint of spiciness. I loved the carrot chickpea salad.

We were able to catch the last show of Starship.

At the last minute, Mom wanted to grab the Shrimp Tempura at the Citrus Blossom. So off we go!

We passed up Luminous for these babies. Yes, you can order an Orange Lemon smoothie without the Orange Bird sipper.

After that, it was time to sit back and watch the crowds.

Abstract art…

Yes, the park was closed, but we did check out the new Communicore Hall…

And Mickey and Friends meeting spot. It’s not enclosed, so this will be a hot spot in August.

Checked out a few more topiaries…

Without the crowds.

And Figgy too!

I said goodnight to Walt.

Do you think he’s happy with the changes or not? 🤔

No crowds means some awesome shots.

Finally, time to leave. I hardly get to see Asia without a ton of people. Now’s my chance.

Well, that’s concludes our quick-paced Epcot night.

But wait, there’s more…

So Mom wanted to see Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone. And since the big concerts are running Friday-Saturday or Sunday-Monday, our only chance was the Sunday concert.

Near the Prehistoric Garden (near the former Universe of Energy), you will find a few prehistoric plants and plastic dinos.

They keep moving their location. I’m guessing people are snatching them, and then they have to be replaced.

Next up, we needed breakfast. The Avocado Toast and Bacon Cinnamon Bites.

How can you go wrong?

Of course, more topiary and flower views.

And then I discovered the La Vie en Rose frozen slushy. Oh…my…God!

It was so good, and you could barely taste the Grey Goose vodka, but it’s in there.

I paired it with the Croissant and Goat Cheese. Magnifique.

It was so good, I had another one. 🫣

We wandered over to the Miss Piggy and Kermit topiary in Morocco. Every year, Disney changes its location.

One little lost floating flower bed near the Odyssey.

For dinner, another round of Shrimp Tempura. You can tell that these are a favorite.

With an older performer, there’s a ton of scooters and wheelchairs lined up against the railings.

Peter Noone is the lead singer of the Herman’s Hermits. He played most of their hits, and a few more songs from that era.

Overall, a good show.

We even got back in line for the last show of the night.

And that’s a wrap for this jam-packed weekend.

Wonder where we will be for next week?

*cue lightsaber noises*

Until next time…
