Mother’s Day Celebration

Mother’s Day has arrived. Now I have noticed that the parks are usually quiet on this day. Let’s see if that plays out today.

The flowers around Asha and Valentino are really starting to bloom. It’s sad that we only have a month left of the festival.

The obligatory shot of Spaceship Earth.

It’s V.I.Passholder Days. That means special treats, a Passhole lounge, and a new magnet. That started on May 1. I thought the crowds would have died down. Well that didn’t happen.

They do move quickly, but it was a 10 minute wait for this.

We had a 2:30 lunch at the Biergarten. Before we went there, my Mom wanted to use the bathrooms at the American Adventure pavilion just because. she deems those as the best.

Plus, we get to see Tiana and the flowers around her blooming.

Now on to Biergarten…

When we first came back here a year ago, the food and food were mediocre. It did change for the Garden Rocks package. So that’s why Mom chose it for her special day.

I started out with Round 1:

A little entertainment…

A look at the offerings. I forget dessert though!

Second round…

And more entertainment…

There were a couple more plates of sausage, bowls of soup, a stein of beer here. By the time I hit the dessert portion, I forgot to take a photo.

But here’s some gnome topiaries instead.

Snow White has a little lizard visitor.

I’m feeling Dopey after all that food!

So we decided to hit the AP Lounge in Morocco. You had to wind through all the construction walls to get there. And there was a long line, but it moved fast.

The only problem was that there was nowhere to sit. The lounge was jam-packed with people. You couldn’t get a drink because there was a long line. Ugh!

I was even yelled at by a Cast Member for standing in the way of the Genie. Sheesh!

I did get in the line for the Genie. It moved super slow, and I was one of the last people to get a pic before he had to take a break.

What do you get into the lounge? Well, if you find a place to sit, you can rest for a few minutes, get a cup of water, Chex Mix, and Planters nuts. No expired stuff this year.

You also get a button…

I wouldn’t mind them keeping this space open all the time.

After that, we took some time to admire the flower beds.

We also checked out Simba, Nala, and Rafiki in the daytime.

I always see them at night.

Before heading out, we enjoy some solitude under the weird metal tree-like structures.

And finished off the day with a look at Figment.

Mother’s Day was absolutely packed today. Last year, Magic Kingdom was a basic walk-on for every ride. Maybe everyone decided to take their moms to Epcot for the day.

Despite that, it was still a good time.

Until next time…

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
