Dateline: Walt Disney World – March 6, 2021

This week, we look at the big changes at Epcot, masks requirements change for dining, and a first look at the Poly’s new rooms. Let’s take a spin around the World for this week’s news.

Dining Mask Rules Updated: Looks like Disney is clarifying their dining rules at table service restaurants. You are now required to keep your mask on when interacting with the servers. However, when actively eating and drinking, the mask can come off. Plenty of people were using the restaurants as spots to hang out without a mask, so that’s why Disney cracked down on the rules.

Here’s the updated rules via Disney:

Face coverings for each Guest age 2 and up, which must be worn in all public areas and can only be removed while actively eating or drinking. Face coverings must be worn while standing, waiting or sitting in dining locations.

Epcot Gets a Glow Up: Flower and Garden opened on Wednesday, and along with that, there’s some new entrance music. While it’s uplifting, this loop doesn’t have the pizzazz of earlier ones. Yes, I’m an Epcot purist!

Check out for yourself:

That’s not all! Pavilion flags representing World Showcase, The Land, The Seas, Spaceship Earth, Imagination, and World of Motion are flying near the entrance.

Finally, a new lighting package runs the perimeter of the Entrance Plaza, and it changes throughout the evening.

Moana Room Sneak Peeks: Refurbishment work continues at the Poly, including an update to the monorail station. Disney just released a few photo of the refreshed rooms with a distinctive Moana theme.

And that’s all the news for this week. Are you excited about the upgrades at Epcot or new rooms at the Poly? Let’s us know in the comments.

According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up.
