Dateline: Walt Disney World – March 13, 2021

This week, Blizzard Beach welcomes guests, Ratatouille gets an opening date, and MagicBands go mobile. Grab your boogie board and let’s hit the news waves at Walt Disney World.

Blizzard Beach Reopens: Guests finally could hit the water at Blizzard Beach on March 6. However, there were restrictions in place, including the standard wear a mask, keep physical distance, and wash your hands.

Ratatouille Opening Date: Finally, we have an opening date for the newest Epcot attraction. Rumors have been floating around that the ride is ready to accept guests at any minute, but Disney wanted to hold off on announcing any opening dates. Well the wait is over! We now know that October 1, 2021 is the official Grand Opening. Looks like Disney wants to sway guests away from the Magic Kingdom’s 50th festivities.

Along with that, La Crêperie de Paris will also open on October 1, 2021. Its menu features all types of sweet and savory crepes and French hard cider.

Main Street Confectionery Under Refurbishment:
On March 29, you will have to travel to Main Strret Cinema for your sweet tooth. The end date is listed for May 22, 2021, but it could last longer.

Disney World has had announced that MagicMobile will be available for iPhones, Apple Watches, and mobile devices. Here’s the announcement from Disney:

“The MagicBand, the colorful wristband guests wear at Walt Disney World Resort, makes each visit even simpler and more seamless. We’ve continued to invent and innovate, and soon, we’ll be debuting a new option: Disney MagicMobile service!

Launching in phases starting later this year, Disney MagicMobile service is a convenient and contactless way to access MagicBand features like theme park entry through the power of your iPhone, Apple Watch or other smart device. Guests will be able to create a Disney MagicMobile pass through the My Disney Experience app and add it to their smart device’s digital wallet. It works like magic – most features will be available by just holding up your smart device near an access point, just like you do with a MagicBand. Disney MagicMobile service and its features will roll out first on Apple devices.”

That’s all the news for this week. Are you excited about the new MagicMobile service? Will you be first in line for Ratatouille? Let us know in the comments!
