Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory to Undergo Refurbishment

The Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter will be closing for a major refurbishment on July 11th. It is scheduled to reopen in the fall but there is no set date yet.

There will be a temporary location available near the lobby, serving up the classics of jambalaya, gumbo, po-boy sandwiches, beignets, other hot and cold entrees and a range of grab and go items. The Disney Dining Plan will be accepted at this temporary location.

In-room pizza delivery will also continue to be available from 4 PM to midnight daily.

Bus transportation from 7 AM to midnight will also be available to the nearby Mill Food Court and Boatwright’s Dining Hall at the Riverside.

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
