Buzzing for Answers to Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration (2024)

If you’ve been attending any Epcot festival, you already know there has to be BEE some sort of scavenger hunt. Well, springtime brings flowers and Spike the Bee.

He’s back with his own hunt throughout Epcot. Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration gives you a chance to spot him around the flowers and gardens.

For $9.99, you can pick up your own map and start the search. Yes, Annual Passhooders and DVC Members do get a 20% discount. To play, you walk around the park, find Spike with a flower, and place the corresponding sticker on the map.

And the prizes are adorable for this year. Mini cornhole games with two bags. You can get an Orange Bird, Coco, Spike, and EPCOT theme set.

Now that we’re set to go, let’s start searching in the former Future World/current World Celebration area. Depending on when you visit, there are still a ton of walls blocking off walkways. When I was here, getting to the Butterfly House was a one-path journey.

World Celebration Playground

This play area is right outside the “back door” of Creations Shop as you head towards Test Track and BRUNCHCOT.

If you just walk around the whole Creations building, you can’t miss it. And you don’t have to go into the playground, which can understandably weird people out with their kids.

The garden is more towards the doors of Creations, so if you exit keep a look towards your right. You’ll spot Spike in the Inpatients.

Mickey and Minnie’s Picnic (Near Creations Shop)

This spot is one of the centerpieces of the festival. You’ll know that because it always has a PhotoPass photographer. If you want to find this garden, it is slightly past Creations and to the right of the popcorn shop on the walkway to World Showcase.

You can spot Spike near Pluto.

It’s Spike with the Sunflowers

Donald’s Community Garden

This year, the number one duck is sans Daisy. However, you can find him in the courtyard area between Connections and Guardians of the Galaxy.

It looks like he does a fuzzy buzzy friend on his head.

And if you look towards the right, in the tomato garden, Spike is hanging out with the Tomato.

Honey Bee-Stro

Spike isn’t hard to spot in this garden, but it can be hard to navigate with crowds. If you see the Honey Bee-Stro sign, keep walking right to the little stone seating area.

But if you grab your food from the booth, Spike is towards your right in the seating area.

No matter the direction, Spike is with the Canna.

Butterfly House (Between Imagination and Land Pavilions)

The Butterfly House is one of the best parts of Flower and Garden, and it’s located between The Land and Imagination Pavilions. But you don’t have to go inside to find Spike.

Take a look at the big butterfly facing the walkway.

You’ll find little Spike near the Salvia.

Now that we’re finished with World Celebration, let’s move on to World Showcase.

Desert Garden (Mexico)

Out of all the little Spikes, this little bee was the hardest to find. Now, the sign for the Desert Garden is right next to the entrance for San Angel quick service. There’s a little space with desert plants, but Spike is not there.

You have to follow the whole side of the building to the ring carver stand (towards Norway).

He’s literally tucked into a corner. But here’s Spike with the Echeveria.

Garden Italiano (Italy)

You can find Spike along the walkway from Germany to Italy, in a little green garden near the water. If you’ve hit the food booth, you’ve walked too far.

Check out the large basil tree (bush, shrub?), you will find Spike. I don’t know, my garden is a graveyard for basil plants.

Mark Spike down with the Basil.

Magnolia Terrace (American Adventure)

As you can imagine, the Magnolia Terrace garden is not too far from the booth of the same name. In fact, all of the American Adventure’s food, topiary, and Spike hiding places are in the same spot.

Just off to Tiana’s right, you will find Spike.

He’s with the Magnolia.

Kokedama Garden (Japan)

You will need to follow the walkway towards Katsura Grill.

The last little alcove on the left is home to the Kokedama Garden.

Can you see him?

Spike is tucked in the garden and hanging out with the Iris.

Spice Garden (Morocco)

Spike is hidden in the Moroccan Spice Garden, which is right out near the Tangerine Cafe and in front of the pavilion’s restrooms.

Spike is hanging out with the Pepper.

French Gardens (France)

Spike’s hiding place is a little different this year.

Walk towards the back to the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along or Impressions de France (depending on the time of day).

Now look at the flower bed.

Spike is there with the Rose.

English Tea Gardens (United Kingdom)

Last year, Spike was on the end, but we have to look deeper into the Tea Garden.

Follow the path down…

To the Arabian Jasmine cup

Spike is enjoying a cuppa with the Camellia.

Once you are down, you can take it to one of the prize redemption spots: Creations, World Traveler, Port of Entry, and Disney Traders.

What did we get?

Orange Bird, of course! It’s a cute game, and my inability to play cornhole in real life even translates to the mini version.

So, is this something you are interested in playing? Remember, you don’t have to finish to get a prize. I always buy the map and pick up my prize right away. The Cast Member will just stamp “COMPLETE” and hand you the goodies.

Let me know if this is a skip or missed when you visit Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival.

Kungaloosh Radio

Theresa has been a life-long Disney fan since she first visited the Magic Kingdom in 1985 at the age of 3. According to her mother, she squealed with excitement when she saw Winnie the Pooh and Chip n' Dale for the first time. That love for Disney has not waned as she grew up. She continues to be fascinated with the history of EPCOT Center and maintains the radio station, Kungaloosh Radio.
